ATHENS-----University of Georgia senior gymnast Noel Couch has been named to the 2013 class of the UGA Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, it was announced recently.
The Alpha Upsilon circle unites students and faculty who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in the five phases of campus life in the interest of the development of the University through commitment to service, integrity, excellence, and friendship.
A senior double major in broadcast journalism and international affairs, Couch was recently named a Peach of an Athlete honoree for her work in the community. While at UGA, she has been awarded the Hornsby Howell Community Service Award, spoke to underprivileged girls and girl scouts about health and fitness and volunteered with the Special Olympics gymnastics program. Couch serves on the UGA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
Last fall Couch was named recipient of the Tucker Dorsey Memorial Scholarship awarded by the UGA chapter of the Blue Key National Honor Society.
A native of Towaco, N.J., Couch has been named All-SEC during her UGA career and earned second team All-America honors. She was named the overall team MVP in 2012.
