ATHENS-----With two meets remaining in the regular season, the Georgia gymnastics team came in at No. 8 in this week’s top-25. The Gym Dogs improved their RQS to a 196.725 following last weekend’s meet at LSU.

Florida reclaimed the No. 1 spot with a 197.440, followed by Oklahoma (197.410), Michigan (197.080), LSU (196.965), Alabama (196.910), UCLA (196.765), Utah (196.740), Georgia (196.725), Stanford (196.590) and Oregon State (196.565) to round out the top-10.

In the event rankings, Georgia is No. 3 on bars (49.385), No. 6 on vault (49.335), ninth on beam (49.090) and No. 12 on floor (49.145). The Gym Dogs posted their second-highest score of the season on beam (49.225) and their third-highest on floor (49.150) Friday night.

Individually, Chelsea Davis remained at No. 1 on the uneven bars with a 9.935 RQS, and Brittany Rogers is tied for fifth with a 9.905. On vault, Brandie Jay is sixth with a 9.910, followed by Lindsey Cheek at No. 16 (9.895) and Rogers, who is tied for 19th with a  9.890.

On the balance beam, Shayla Worley is tied for seventh at 9.890, while Kaylan Earls is tied for 17th with a 9.865.

The Gym Dogs will host seventh-ranked Utah in the home finale Saturday at 6 p.m., before they close out the season at NC State on March 17.
