ATHENS-----The Georgia gymnastics team moved up one spot to No. 8 in this week’s top 25.

Florida remained at No. 1 with a 197.296 average, followed by Oklahoma (197.171), Michigan (196.939), Alabama (196.842), UCLA (196.650), LSU (196.507), Utah (196.383), Georgia (196.369), Nebraska (196.283) and Stanford (196.129) to round out the top-10.

Current rankings are based on overall team average. Beginning Feb. 25, rankings will be based on RQS. RQS is based on a team's six best regular-season-meet scores; to obtain the RQS, the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged.

The Gym Dogs (5-5-1, 3-1-1 SEC) are coming off a 197.300-196.175 loss to Florida on Saturday. Georgia posted a 99.00 through two rotations, including season-highs scores on vault (49.55) and bars (49.45). UGA remained in the top-five on those two events, including No. 2 on bars with a 49.303 average and No. 3 on vault (49.334). Georgia is No. 15 on floor (48.95) and No. 16 on beam (48.781).

Individually, Chelsea Davis retained her No. 1 ranking on bars for the third straight week. After winning her eighth bars title against Florida with a 9.95, Davis improved her season average to a 9.912. Freshman Brittany Rogers is tied for fourth with a 9.875.

Four Gym Dogs are ranked in the top-20 on vault. Noel Couch is tied for third with her career-high 9.925 on Saturday, while freshman Brandie Jay is ranked 14th with a 9.894. Jay posted a 9.975 against the Gators, which is the highest score by any Georgia gymnast this season. Lindsey Cheek and Rogers are ranked 19th and 20th respectively, with a 9.884. Christa Tanella is tied for 22nd on floor with a 9.869.

Georgia will travel to Columbia, Mo., to take on new SEC member Missouri Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
