"This feels really good, but this is what we expected," UGA coach Danna Durante said. "It's something we've been talking about since August, and it's just another step. It's certainly good to have this one in the bag, and now it's time to get focused on going to L.A. I saw some things today that we need to work on and p repare us for that meet. We need to continue to stay in the process and do our job."
Georgia opened with a 49.25 on vault in the first rotation behind a team-high 9.875 by Brittany Rogers. The Gym Dogs had a bye in the second rotation and went to bars in the third rotation. After a bye in the fifth rotation, Georgia closed the meet with a 49.425 on floor behind a career-high 9.95 by Worley to win the floor title and 9.9s by Persinger and Brandie Jay.
"We came in here with intentions and goals and nothing was going to stop us," Worley said. "Now it's time to go back to work and get ready for nationals. We were able to buld some momentum and it really rocketed from there."
Georgia posted the highest team score on all four events.
The other 10 teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships on Saturday include Florida, Oklahoma, LSU, UCLA, Michigan, Minnesota, Stanford, Illinois, Alabama and Utah.
