ATHENS, Ga. --- The eighth-ranked Georgia gymnastics team turned in a season-high score in a 197.650-196.975 win over No. 7 Utah in front of 9,941 fans Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum.
It was also the highest score by any Georgia team in a dual meet against Utah.
"I'm really proud of the team," said head coach Danna Durante. "We've been away for a few weeks, and we had to work out a few kinks. We wanted to come in tonight and shift into fifth gear, and I feel like we did that. I'm really proud of their effort."
Saturday afternoon marked the final home meet of the 2013 season and Senior Night for four gymnasts. Kati Breazeal, Noel Couch, Christa Tanella, and Shayla Worley were honored at the conclusion of the meet.
Even with the spotlight on the seniors, freshmen Brittany Rogers shined in her own way. Rogers competed in the all-around for the fourth time this season and began and ended the meet with career highs on vault and floor respectively.
Georgia posted its second-highest score on vault of the season, a 49.525. Rogers and Lindsey Cheek led the team with 9.95s. This was a career high for Rogers and season high for Cheek. Utah scored a 49.225 on bars.

Both teams tallied a 49.225 during the third rotation. Utah competed on floor and Georgia was on beam. Four of the Gym Dogs posted 9.875s, which was the highest score on the event for Georgia.
The Gym Dogs clinched the win on floor with four scores of 9.9 or higher and a season-high 49.525 on the event. Worley concluded her career at home with a season high of 9.95; this also ties her career high. Rogers also posted a 9.95, setting a career high, and Persinger tied her career high with a 9.9. Utah finished the evening with a beam score of 49.175.
"This was the best meet of my life," said Tanella. "It's amazing. It's like icing on the cake."
The Gym Dogs will conclude regular season competition at 1 p.m. next Sunday, March 17, against NC State. The meet will be held at the Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, NC.
