LEXINGTON, Ky.-----Third-ranked Georgia won its SEC road opener Friday night, beating Kentucky 195.550-195.000 at Memorial Coliseum.

Georgia (6-1, 2-0 SEC) is now 67-0 all-time against the Wildcats (2-3, 0-3 SEC), which is the most wins over an opponent without a loss for the Gym Dogs.

"I'm glad we got out of here with a win, but our team understands that they left eight or nine tenths out there just on landings," head coach Jay Clark said. "We didn't land well tonight and we backpedaled all over the place. We had a nice performance on bars and beam. We just have to improve.

"We fought hard and did a decent job of pulling ourselves out of a hole at the end. It's a whole lot better than a loss, but that's about as far as I'll go."

Georgia started out with a 49.125 on bars in the first rotation led by Kat Ding's 9.875 and a pair of 9.825s by Christa Tanella and Gina Nuccio. For Ding, it was her third bars title of the season. Kentucky posted a 48.875 on vault.

Kentucky cut into Georgia's lead in the second rotation with a 48.8 on bars, while Georgia scored a 48.675 on vault. Hilary Mauro was the Gym Dogs' high scorer with a 9.85, and at the midway point of the meet Georgia led 97.8-97.675.

Georgia extended its lead to 146.375-145.85 after the third rotation. UGA posted a 48.575 on floor as Noel Couch led the team with a 48.575. The Wildcats scored a 48.175 on beam.

The Gym Dogs' best event of the meet was balance beam, where they scored a 49.175 in the final rotation behind a trio of 9.875s by Tanella, Shayla Worley and Cassidy McComb. McComb won her ninth event title of the season, while Worley won her third on beam and Tanella won her first. Kentucky closed the meet with a 49.15 on floor.

Georgia will travel to 12th ranked Arkansas for an 8:00 p.m. ET meet on Feb 4. The next home meet is scheduled for Feb. 12 against No. 1 Florida. For tickets, log on to www.georgiadogs.com or call the UGA Ticket Office at 1-877-542-1231 between 8:30 a.m.- 4:30p.m. Monday-Friday.
