2010 (Senior Season) Competed in all 13 meets and won two event titles. Second Team All-SEC (SEC Vault Runner-up) Was a late addition to the vault lineup and scored a 9.850 at the NCAA Columbia Regional. Was runner-up on vault with a 9.875 at the SEC Championship. Scored a career-high 9.925 on bars and a 9.850 on vault vs. NC State. Tied for second on bars with a 9.850 at No. 12 Michigan. Scored a 9.875 on bars and tied season-high 9.875 on vault vs. No. 3 UCLA. Tied season-high with a 9.875 on vault vs. No. 10 LSU. Scored a season-high 9.875 on vault at No. 4 Florida. Tied her then-season-high with a 9.825 on bars vs. No. 3 Arkansas on. Scored a 9.825 on bars vs. No. 11 Kentucky. Posted a 9.825 on bars at No. 6 Utah. Scored the meet's third-highest vault score with a 9.850 at No. 4 Alabama. Posted a meet-high 9.900 on vault vs. No. 7 Stanford. Named to SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.
2009 (Junior Season): Named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team. Chosen for a Peach of an Athlete Award by the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Named to the Scholastic All-America Team by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women. Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Celebrated her 21st birthday by doing three events and helping Georgia defeat UCLA. Has competed on vault in all but one meet this season, reaching a high of 9.9 three times. Registered a season-best 9.875 on bars against Alabama. Set her career high of 9.925 on floor against Florida. Named to the Fall Semester Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Named a recipient of the Ramsey Scholarship for Academic and Athletic Excellence.
2008 (Sophomore Season): Scored a career-high 9.950 on vault in the NCAA Prelims to earn First-Team All-America honors for the second straight year. Finished sixth on vault in the individual event finals at the NCAAs. Competed vault in all but one of Georgia's meets in 2008, four times scoring a 9.875 before the career-high at the NCAAs. Notched a season-high on bars of 9.875 against Kentucky. Named First-Team Academic All-American by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women. Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Named a recipient of the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholars Award.
2007 (Freshman Season): Selected as a First-Team All-American on vault. Competed on bars in both of Georgia's competitions at the NCAA Championship, scoring a career-high 9.9 on bars. Tied for first on vault at Kentucky with a 9.85. Posted a 9.9 on vault at N.C. State. Competed in three events for the first time in her career in the meet at LSU. Notched a 9.825 against Auburn in just her second floor routine. Posted her third 9.9 on vault at UCLA. Earned a 4.0 spring grade point average. Named to SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll. Chosen as a NACGC Academic All-American.
Club/International: Trained at Excalibur Gymnastics under Jim and Dena Walker, the same gym as former Gym Dog Cory Fritzinger. Was a U.S. Elite National Team Member. Participated in the 2004 Olympic Trials Camp. Was a three-year member of U.S. National team. Notched several first-place awards during her international career, including the 2004 FL Gym Open in Luxembourg. Placed second in the all-around at the 2004 American Classic and she was sixth in the all-around at the National Elite Podium meet. Was a member of the gold-medal winning team at the 2003 Pan-American Games. Won the 2002 Junior Pan American Championship.
Community Service: Served as Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that oversees UGA's community service efforts. Participated in the Do It For Broph 5K Run/Walk, with proceeds benefiting a scholarship fund in honor of late UGA basketball player Kevin Brophy. Coordinated Georgia's "Together We Can" food drive that collected more than 1,200 pounds of food. Has volunteered for Special Olympics.
Personal: Born March 8, 1988. Daughter of James and Olivia Newby and has an older brother James. Major: Applied Biotechnology / Pre-Med.
