In 2005, Cory joined the gymnastics staff as an Administrative Intern. She last competed for the Gym Dogs in the 2004 season.
Athletic Career
2004:
First-Team All-American on bars and Second-Team on beam. Named All-SEC thanks to first-place finishes on beam and
bars at the SEC Championships. Became the first gymnast
to score a 10.0 on beam in SEC Championships history
and tied the SEC Championships record (which she also
tied in 2001) with her 9.95 on beam. Her 10.0 on beam
at SECs was the second of her career and fifth in UGA
history. Competed on floor for the first time on Senior
Night in Athens against Iowa State making it her first
all-around of the year...last year she competed 12 all-arounds.
Ranked sixth nationally on bars and 20th on beam. Her
six scores of 9.95 or better on bars this season are
five more than a year ago. At last year's NCAA
Regionals in Athens she scored only one 9.9 in her all-around
with a 9.925 on vault.
2003:
Earned the SEC Athlete of the Week on 1/28 after scoring
a 39.550 to win the all-around against Michigan. Against
Iowa she posted a season-high 9.975 on bars. Scored the
fourth 10.0 in Gym Dog history on beam at home against Alabama.
Scored a 39.700 to win the all-around against Auburn, including
a season-high 9.925 on floor and 9.925 on vault. At Arkansas
she posted the first 10.0 in Barnhill Arena history on the
vault. Tied for 2nd on bars at SECs with a 9.900 and tied
for 7th on vault at 9.875. Placed second at the Southeast
Regional in the all-around with a 39.225. Competed in the
all-around in prelims and finals of the NCAA Championships,
scoring above a 9.85 on five events.
2002:

and excellence vs. Nebraska (Jan. 6) where she delivered
three scores of 9.9 or higher (bars-9.9, beam-9.9, floor-9.925)
and also captured the all-around title with a 39.525...Had
a stellar meet at the SEC Challenge (Jan. 11) placing first
on beam with a 9.9, tying for fifth on floor with a 9.925,
and placing third in the all-around with a 39.325...Had
the best meet of her career vs. UCLA (Jan. 13) scoring her
first perfect 10 on vault, 9.925s on both bars and floor,
and a 9.95 on beam...Her all-around score of a 39.8 vs.
UCLA (Jan. 13) ties the second-highest all-around score
in Gym Dog history with Kim Arnold...Posted her third score
of a 9.9 or higher on bars vs. Alabama (Jan. 18) where she
tied for first-place with a 9.9...Continued her winning
streak on beam vs. Alabama (Jan. 18) where she placed first
for the fourth time with a 9.875...Placed first on bars
(9.875) and beam (9.95) at Auburn (Jan. 25)...Had an amazing
competition at Maryland (Jan. 27) in front on many family
fans, where she scored two perfect 10s, the first one of
the season on bars, and the second one in 2002 on vault...Both
earned her first-place finishes...Also scored a 9.9 on beam
at Maryland, which marked her fifth score of the season
of a 9.9 or higher, scored a 9.875 on floor, and recorded
her second highest all-around total and the third highest
in UGA history of a 39.775...Tied for second on vault vs.
Oklahoma (Feb. 1) with a 9.925, and placed first on bars
for the fourth consecutive week with a 9.95...Earned the
fourth highest all-around in Georgia school history (39.75)
vs. Kentucky, winning vault (9.975), bars (9.95), beam (9.95),
and placing fourth on floor with a 9.875...Despite a fall
on vault at Michigan (Feb. 10), came through with strong
scores on bars (9.875) and beam (9.9)...Tied for third on
vault vs. Alabama (Feb. 15) with a 9.925, marking the fifth
time she has scored a 9.925 or higher on the event...Added
another all-around title at Florida (Mar. 1) scoring a 39.3,
which included 9.8s on vault and beam, a 9.875 on bars,
and 9.825 on floor...Captured the bar title once again vs.
LSU (Mar. 8) with a 9.925, marking the seventh time she
has scored a 9.9 or higher on the event this season...Placed
fourth in the all-around at SECs (3/23) with a 39.225, and
also tied for seventh on vault (9.8), 15th on bars (9.825),
and eighth on floor (9.85)...Became the 2002 NCAA North
Central Regional Co-Beam Champion with a 9.9 on the event
(Apr. 6)...Tied for first on vault with a 9.925, and tied
for second on beam with a 9.9 at the preliminaries of the
NCAA Nationals, each earning her First Team All-American
honors...Tied for third on bars and fourth on beam at the
Super Six earning a 9.9 and a 9.925 respectively.
2001:
SEC Freshman of the Year...2001 First-Team All-SEC.. 2001
NCAA Vault Champion...2001 First-Team All-American on Vault,
Beam, and Floor...Became the 14th Georgia gymnast to win
a combined 26 NCAA individual titles when she won the NCAA
vault title (Apr. 21)...Fritzinger became the first freshman
to win an NCAA individual title for Georgia since both Hope
Spivey (vault, floor, all-around) and Kelly Macy (bars)
accomplished the feat in 1991...Concluded the regular season
ranked No. 8 in the nation in the all-around and No. 5 in
bars...Scored a 9.9 or higher on bars 11 times, including
a perfect 10.0 vs. North Carolina (Jan. 26) and a 9.975
vs. Michigan (Feb. 10)...Sensational debut as a Gym Dog
was punctuated by a second-place finish in the all-around
at the Super Six Challenge (Jan. 6)... Her 39.175 all-around
score at the Super Six Challenge was at the time the highest
mark ever for a Georgia gymnast competing in her first meet...Became
the first freshman Gym Dog to score a 10.0 since Karin Lichey
in 1996, when she nailed a perfect score on bars vs. North
Carolina (Jan. 26)...Was named the SEC's Gymnast of
the Week following performance vs. Alabama (Mar. 3). In
that meet Fritzinger placed first in the all-around (39.625),
first on bars (9.95), set a then-career high (9.925) on
beam, and set a career-high on floor exercise (9.95)...Delivered
a career performance at the SEC Championships, becoming
the first freshman to capture the SEC All-Around title since
former Gym Dog Leah Brown accomplished the feat in 1994...Fritzinger
scored a 39.7 in the all-around to go along with top honors
on both the bars (9.95) and beam (9.95) in addition to a
second-place vault finish (9.9) and a fifth-place floor
finish (9.95)...Scored a 9.9 or higher on beam five times
in 2001, including a career-best 9.95 at the SEC Championships
(Mar. 23).
Club: Competed for Excalibur in Virginia Beach, Va...Recorded
