Julie Ballard Clark, a member of the Georgia gymnastics team from 1994-98, enters her third season as an assistant coach after spending eight years as a volunteer assistant on Suzanne Yoculan's staff and one year as the Director of Gymnastics Operations.

Clark spearheads Georgia's balance beam squad, where she helped the Gym Dogs finish fourth nationally in 2011. In 2010, Clark's first season as a full-time assistant, Georgia finished No. 2 nationally on the balance beam with a 49.300 RQS. During the 2010 season, Grace Taylor had the SEC's only perfect 10 of the season on beam.

In 2000, Clark worked as a graduate intern in the Georgia gymnastics office, where her primary duties included correspondence with alumni and parents as well as alumni event planning.Clark had a major role in the initiation of the Ten-0 Club's alumni web site, which serves as the hub of alumni relations for former Gym Dogs across the country.

From 2001-2007, Clark served as a volunteer assistant, and was then named Director of Gymnastics Operations for the 2008 season. She moved back to her role as volunteer coach in 2009 before being named assistant coach in July.

In addition to her responsibilities with the Gym Dogs, Clark formerly owned and served as promotions, marketing and general director of all programs, as well as an optional level coach and class instructor for Classic City Gymnastics Academy in Athens.

She also spent time with Competitive Resource Group, and talked with collegiate and professional athletes about life skills after their time as athletes. During her seminars she addressed athletes on how they could gain special advantages in interview settings thanks to skills learned through athletics. Clark is a contract choreographer and motivational speaker for young gymnasts and children across the country. She also has a passion for sharing her faith with various groups in the community.

In her years as a Gym Dog, Clark was a member of the 1998 NCAA Championship team, and received two All-America honors. Clark earned the 1995 SEC Freshman of the Year Award and was a member of the 1995 World University Games held in Japan.

Clark is a native of Mandeville, La., and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a degree in Administration in Recreation and Leisure Studies.

She is married to Gym Dogs head coach Jay Clark. They have a son, Walton Cole, born on Aug. 15, 2002, and a daughter, Kinsey Grace, born Dec. 15, 2005.
