ATHENS, Ga. --- Three members of the Georgia women's golf team enjoyed a successful week on the summer circuit.

Rising junior Amira Alexander tied for 27th individually while representing the U.S. Virgin Islands at the World University Championships at the historic Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierre in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. Alexander carded successive scores of 73-77-77-76 to finish at 15-over 303. That effort led the USVI to a 12th-place finish in the team competition.

Rising sophomore Mary Ellen Shuman reached the round of 16 at the Women's Western Amateur at Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pa. Shuman tied for 42nd in two days of stroke play qualifying after shooting 78-77=155. She then defeated Lindsay McGetrick, a rising senior at N.C. State, 5-and-4 in the first round and Taylor Kim, a rising junior at Kent State, 3-and-2, before falling to Aliea Clark, who will be a freshman at UCLA this fall, 2-and-1.

Incoming freshman Isabella Skinner tied for third at the Georgia Top 60 Women's Classic at Rivermont Country Club in Johns Creek. Skinner carded back-to-back rounds of 1-under 71 to finish at 2-under 142, four shots back of Sydney Neeham.

A trio of Bulldogs will be in action this Saturday-Monday. Skinner, rising junior Sylvie Brick and rising sophomore Sammi Lee will compete in the Judson Collegiate Championship at the Country Club of Roswell.
