ATHENS, Ga. -- The No. 5 Georgia women's golf team is tied for second place with No. 1 Duke at 292 and is just one stroke back of leader No. 6 Ohio State (291) after Friday's first round of the 32nd annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, held at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

A trio of Lady Bulldogs carded even-par 72s on the first 18 holes to lead Georgia. Whitney Wade, Lisa Tyler and Allison Martin all posted par scores in Friday's first round and are tied for eighth heading into Saturday's competition. In fact, all three struggled on the first few holes, but still managed to shoot no worse than 38 on the front nine. Wade regained control and was par at the turn.
