Lady Dogs slip to 12th at Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. --- The No. 7-ranked Georgia women's golf team shot a 32-over 314 in Tuesday's second round of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club, slipping from 11th to 12th in the team standings in the process.

Freshman Whitney Wade led the Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday with a 6-over 77. Georgia's additional counting rounds came from Jackie Beers, Allison Martin and Lisa Tyler, who all shot 79. Kelly Froelich carded an 83.

Individually, Wade is tied for 36th at 13-over 155, Martin and Tyler are tied for 39th at 156, Beers it tied for 51st at 160 and Froelich is tied for 54th at 161.

No. 2 UCLA continued to dominate the team field. The Bruins shot 9-over 293 on Tuesday to expand their 13-stroke lead to 25 shots entering Wednesday's final round. UCLA Charlotte Mayorkas carded a 2-under 69 to move to 7-under through 36 holes. She holds a seven-shot lead over the rest of the individual field.
