HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- Manuela Carbajo Ré posted a 2-over 73 to lead the Georgia women's golf team in the opening round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Friday. The Bulldogs recorded a 317 as a team.
Carbajo Ré is tied for 14th individually in a stiff field featuring six top-10 and 12 top-25 teams.
Georgia's additional counting scores on Friday were a 79 by Harang Lee, an 82 by Amira Alexander and an 83 by Rocio Sanchez Lobato.
On the individual leaderboard, Lee is tied for 67th, Alexander is tied for 77th, Sanchez Lobato is tied for 80th and Mary Ellen Shuman, who signed for an 87, is 89th.
No. 3 Duke leads the team field after an even-par 284. Alabama's Stephanie Meadow is the individual leader by two strokes following a 4-under 67.
