ATHENS, Ga- Georgia equestrian head coach Meghan Boenig announced that Addyson Cord of Loomis, Calif., has signed with the Georgia equestrian team. Cord will join the team for the 2014-15 season. Cord is the daughter of Robert and Erin Cord and has one brother, Broderick who currently plays volleyball for Nazareth College.

“Addyson is a versatile rider with a background in the equitation and jumper divisions on the west coast,” Assistant Coach Lisa Anderson said. “The great thing about Addy is her experience riding different types of horses, from green to equitation types to jumpers. She has such a broad spectrum of experience from years of riding.”

Cord brings with her nine years of riding experience to the Hunt Seat team along with many riding accomplishments. Cord was the SAHJA Medal Finals Champion, the Cloverleaf Medal Finals Champion and placed third at the Onondarka Medal Finals. She was also the Reserve Champion in year-end placings of NorCal Junior Equitation and PCHA Junior Equitation. 

In addition to having an impressive riding career, Cord is involved in the California Scholarship Foundation and is a member of WAC, WINGS, and Reflection Club.  She was named to the Del Oro Golden Honor Roll and is nominated for the senior class valedictorian at Del Oro High School.
