ATHENS, Ga. – Allison Haupt has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career as a member of the University of Georgia equestrian team, head coach Meghan Boenig announced. Haupt brings 11 years of experience and will be a member of Georgia’s Hunt Seat team.
The Plainview, N.Y., native is the daughter of Stephen and Gail Haupt and has trained under top coaches Missy Clark and John Brennan.
“I am pleased that Allison will be joining the Georgia equestrian team next fall,” assistant coach Lisa Anderson said. “She has an effective and polished riding style that will be a tremendous asset to the team. In addition to her riding, she brings a remarkable competitive spirit that is necessary to compete at this level.”
Haupt finished fourth in Zone Finals in 2008 and finished 10th at the Devon Horse Show. She also has champion ribbons in Medal, Maclay and USET classes at numerous national horse shows. Haupt finished first in the Schooling at the 2012 Medal Finals and second in Marshall and Sterling at the Hampton Classic.
She was also named the Spring Circuit and Reserve Champion in Children's Hunter and HITS on the Hudson and finished first on Long Isiand in the PHA in 2011, as well as finished in the top-25 at the 2011 USET finals.
Haupt is also a member of her school’s Community Service Club and enjoys cheering on the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
