Anthony, Lantz Named SEC Riders of the Month

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Georgia equestrians Carly Anthony and McKenzie Lantz have each been named a Southeastern Conference Rider of the Month. Anthony picked up the honor in Equitation on the Flat, while Lantz earned the title in Reining.
Anthony went 3-1 with two MOP honors during the month of November, with each of her three victories coming on the road. She also defeated her opponents by an average of 7.8 points per competition.
Anthony earned her first win and MOP honor of November with a 76-75 win over her opponent from South Carolina. She followed that performance up with a MOP-earning win over her opponent on the road at Auburn. In that win, she posted a season-best score of 92, which is tied for the highest in the SEC this season. The Redmond, Wash., native closed the month of November with an 11-point win over her opponent from then-No. 9 New Mexico State.
Lantz, a Fremont, Mich., native went 4-0 with one MOP ride during the month of November, with three wins coming on the road. During the month, she defeated her opponents by an average of 4.5 points.
Lantz got things started with a 69.5-65 win over her opponent from South Carolina. She followed that performance with a nine-point, road win over her opponent from Auburn. Lantz earned MOP honors with her 72.5-72 win at South Dakota State and rounded out the month of November by posting her highest score of the month, a 73, against then-No. 9 New Mexico State.
Anthony, Lantz and the rest of the Georgia equestrian team will take the winter off before returning to action on Jan. 26 when they travel to Fresno, Calif., to take on Fresno State.
