ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia equestrian head coach Meghan Boenig has announced that Liza Goodlett has signed a National Letter of Intent to ride for the Georgia equestrian team beginning in 2014-15. Goodlett is the daughter of Robert and Ashley Goodlett and has one brother, Field.
"I'd been hearing about Liza Goodlett from members of our team for months before I ever saw her ride and eventually met her," Assistant Coach Lisa Anderson said. "Shortly after meeting her I was convinced that she would be a great addition to our team. As a successful competitor on the flat and over fences, she also brings with her a strong academic record and I know that she will fit in perfectly at Georgia."
A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Goodlett brings over 14 years of experience to the Bulldogs. She finished first in the Maclay when Georgia Morris was the judge at the Tryon Summer Classic. She was also named the Overall Equitation Champion and won the Betty Oare Perpetual Trophy as the Tryon Summer Classic.
Goodlett has also participated in a George Morris clinic and showed in the USEF Pessoa Medal Finals in Harrisburg, Pa.
