ATHENS, Ga. - The top-ranked Georgia equestrian team will be back in action Friday, Nov. 8 when it hosts the ninth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies at 2 p.m. in Bishop, Ga. The Bulldogs enter the meet with a 2-0 record and have remained No. 1 in every NCEA poll this season.
“We’ve had a nice break between our last meet against USC and this one” said Head Coach Meghan Boenig. “It has given us time to prepare and perfect what we want to accomplish as Texas A&M is a great team and they ride extremely efficiently. We are looking for strong rides to set the precedent for the rest of the month.”
Georgia is coming off of an impressive road win against South Carolina highlighted by a pair of MOP rides from sophomore Heather Schmidt (Horsemanship) and freshman Liza Finsness (Equitation on the Flat). Georgia and South Carolina tied in both Western and Hunt Seat events leaving the overall score 9-9, but ultimately the Bulldogs came away with the victory in raw score (1,496-1,493).
Friday will mark Georgia’s final home meet of the fall schedule and fans are encouraged to arrive early and wear black to support the team as they take on the Aggies.
