ATHENS, Ga. - Kylee Arbuckle of the University of Georgia equestrian team has been named the Southeastern Conference Rider of the Month in Equitation on the Flat, it was announced today by the league office.
Arbuckle is 2-0 on the season, with wins over riders from Texas A&M and Baylor. Her career-best score of 87 against then-No. 1 Texas A&M is also fifth-highest score in the SEC this season.
Averaging a score of 81 over two meets this season, Arbuckle helped the Bulldogs to a 6-0 win in Equitation on the Flat and a 17-5 overall win against the Aggies in the first meet of the season.
She followed her performance with a 75-66 win over her opponent from Baylor in the first away competition of the season. Her win helped tie the event at three. Georgia went on to defeat the fifth-ranked Bears 14-10 in Waco, Texas.
Arbuckle and the rest of the Georgia equestrian team will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m., when they face the second-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.
