ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia equestrian team is well represented at the 2012 All American Quarter Horse Congress taking place this week in Columbus, Ohio. The All American Quarter Horse Congress is the World's Largest Single-Breed Horse Show, receiving more than 17,000 horse show entries during its three-week schedule.

Freshman Rachel Kolb got things started by being named the champion in Youth Performance Gelding, while fellow freshman Laura Malone place fourth. Kolb also was named the Reserve Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation, with Malone finishing in the Top-10 as well.

Malone finished fourth in Youth Showmanship, while Kolb earned a fifth-place finish in Novice Youth Trail.

Also competing at Congress is defending Congress Champion Maria Salazar and teammate Morgan Justiss, both of whom will compete later this week.
