Equestrian Team Competes @ Berry College Show

UGA Ranked 2nd in SEC Western
Heading into the team's team second competition the western discipline is ranked second in points behind Auburn. UGA currently has 14 points to Auburn's 18. USC lags behind with a mere 9 points. A strong showing in the Berry College Competition could push the Bulldogs to the top. In the hunt seat discipline, the riders are trailing beghind both Auburn and USC. Auburn leads with 28 points, followed by USC with 26 and UGA with 21. Despite the lack of points, two riders did "point out" of their class - Rebecca McNorrill and Lizzie Newsome.

Berry College Show
Saturday and Sunday the Bulldogs will compete at Berry College in both the Huntseat and Western disciplines. The team will travel and compete with 43 riders. Riders Leigh Heusner, Heather McFarland, Ashley Slocumb, Lea Clinton, Collins Daye, and Monnye Hedrick will be looking to match their successfull rides in Columbia a few weeks ago.

With only two more points co-captain Erin Hernandez will "point out" of the Intermediate class. Closing the gap in the Walk/Jog class Camille Flournoy is only ten points away exiting the class. In addition to exiting a class with the acquired 35 points, a rider is also qualified to compete in the IHSA Regional Championships.

Competition will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Gumby Equine Center in Rome, Ga.
