Pair of Equestrian Freshmen Head to Prestigious Medal Finals

ATHENS, Ga. - Freshman equestrian Emma Schauder finished 13th among 70 competitors last weekend in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals held at the United States Equestrian Federation headquarters in Gladstone, N.J. Schauder recorded scores of 88 in the flat phase, 86 in the show jumping phase and an 82 in the gymnastics phase.

This weekend, she will be joined by fellow freshman Ali Haupt. The pair will be competing in the USEF/Pessoa Hunt Seat Medal Finals in Harrisburg, Pa., out of a field of roughly 250 riders. 

"We are very excited for both Emma and Ali," said assistant coach Lisa Anderson. "They are both very talented riders and we expect them to represent Georgia well."
