Thatcher Wins at Showplace Fall Classic Championship

WAYNE, Ill. - Senior equestrian Kelsey Thatcher took home the top prize in High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic at Showplace Fall Classic Championship at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Ill. 

Thatcher finished with a time of 37.835, edging out the second-place finisher by nearly a second.

"Kelsey is a tremendous asset to our team," Assistant Coach Lisa Anderson said. "I am very proud of her ability to represent Georgia so well at USEF shows, while meeting both her academic and athletic commitments. 

The Bluffdale, Utah native set the pace early with a double clear round and a time of 42.282 seconds. The lead changed hands before Thatcher recorded her winning time four trips later. 

Thatcher beat out 17 Junior/Amateur Owner riders for the win.
