Malone Excels at AQYHA World Championships

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Incoming freshman Laura Malone of the Georgia equestrian team will return as a finalist for the World Championship in horsemanship, finishing at the top of her class in the qualifying rounds at the 2012 Built Ford Tough AQYHA World Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla.
"Laura has worked tirelessly to perfect her Horsemanship skills under the direction of Michael Colvin and Clint Ainsworth" assistant coach Mary Meneely said. "She took the year off after graduating from high school to train and she looks terrific! It is very exciting to have the strength of our incoming freshmen to add to our already strong equestrian program."
Malone, as well as other incoming freshmen Rachel Kolb and Heather Schmidt will be competing in showmanship today, while Michelina Carbone will show in western pleasure.
