ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia equestrian Madi Berger was given the Hans and Margrit Broder Rising Star Award by the faculty of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences department.
“I was flattered to be nominated by my department, but I never expected to win the overall award,” Berger said. “Winning this award was definitely a high point for this year, and it was very gratifying to know that all the hard work that I have put in is not going unnoticed. It is truly an honor to have been recognized by the esteemed faculty and staff of College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Georgia.”
The award is given to the most outstanding junior in the department. Berger is classified athletically as a sophomore, but has enough credit hours to be classified as a junior for this award.
Berger is majoring in Animal Science and plans to attend Veterinary School, specializing in Large Animal Medicine so that she can continue to be around horses.
