ATHENS, Ga. - Incoming freshman Madison Beasley won the AQHA Region 10 14-18 Championship and was named the All-Around Youth 14-18 Champion. The Regional 10 AQHA Championship show was held May 16-19 at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center. The show was comprised of state Quarter Horse Associations from Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Several riders from Ohio, New Jersey, Texas and Mississippi were also in attendance.

"I am very excited for Madison," associate head coach Mary Meneely said. "Madison is a talented rider and I am looking forward to her excitement, enthusiasm and contribution to the Georgia equestrian program."

The show was one of the last opportunities for riders to qualify nationally for the AQHA Youth Horse Show in August. Classes at the show ranged from about 15 to 50 participants, with most top point earners ensuring their position at Youth World.

Beasley has seen success in her riding career, having been named a finalist at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Novice Youth 14-18 Western Horsemanship and NYATT 14-18 Western Horsemanship in 2012. She finished fourth at the 2011 All American Quarter Horse Congress in Novice Youth 14-18 Western Horsemanship and in Novice Youth 14-18 Western Pleasure. Beasley also was named a semi-finalist at the 2012 AQYHA Youth World Show in 14-18 Youth Western Pleasure.
