ATHENS, Ga. – Head Coach Meghan Boenig has announced that Kelly Skoglund has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her riding career as a member of the Georgia equestrian team. Skoglund is the sister of current senior Kate Skoglund.
“We are excited to have Kelly joining the Bulldogs,” Boenig said. “Kelly especially has a proven commitment to teamwork as seen in her sports program diversity and dedication to academics. We are thrilled to have another Skoglund on the team and know that she will bring many great qualities to the team!”
Skoglund currently lives in Dacula, Georgia, but is originally from Tualatin, Oregon where she attended Tualatin High School. She brings over 11 years of Hunt Seat experience to the team and currently trains under Gail Stuart-Bowles. Highlighting her riding career was winning several top ribbons in several Regional Zone 9 Awards
In addition to equestrian, Skoglund was a member of Tualatin’s soccer, lacrosse and snowboard team. She was also the Vice President of the Future Business Leaders of America and is a member of the National Honors Society.
Kelly is the daughter of David and Laura Skoglund and has four siblings John, Kate, Like and Nash.
