ATHENS, GA.- The Georgia equestrian team received several individual honors along with the championship title last weekend at the NCEA National Championship in Waco, Texas.
McKenzie Lantz was named as the Most Outstanding Player in Reining after going 2-1 over the weekend. Liza Finsesss received Most Outstanding Player in Equitation on the Flat after owning a 3-0 record over the course of the competition.
Along with the two MOP’s, three Georgia riders were named to three of four All-Championship teams. Abby O’Mara received the honors in Equitation Over Fences, Finsness picked up the award for Equitation on the Flat and Lantz earned a spot in Reining.
The Bulldogs won the championship in an SEC rematch against South Carolina in an 8-8 tiebreaker. The title marks the sixth in program history, the most of any NCEA team.
