BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Kylee Arbuckle and Paige Stawicki have each been named the Southeastern Conference March Rider of the Month in Equitation on the Flat and Horsemanship, respectively, it was announced today by the league office. Georgia competed just once in March, with Arbuckle and Stawicki helping the Bulldogs to a 17-3 win over then-No. 5 New Mexico State.

Arbuckle picked up the honor after scoring Georgia’s highest Flat score of the season with her 92 against her opponent from New Mexico State. Her score of 92 was also her career-best and allowed her to earn MOP honors in the event after defeating her opponent by 17 points. The MOP-winning score was also the second-highest Flat and Hunt Seat score of the year among all SEC teams. Arbuckle’s score of 92 against New Mexico State was an event-high and Hunt Seat-high for the Bulldogs this season and ranks in the top-10 all-time Flat scores in program history. Her victory helped Georgia’s Flat team to a 5-0 sweep of the Aggies, while also helping the Hunt Seat squad to a 10-0 sweep of New Mexico State. It also moved her into a tie for fourth place in the total number of head-to-head victories by any SEC rider this year with six.

Stawicki earned Rider of the Month accolades after posting a 77.5-74 win over her opponent from New Mexico State. The point total allowed her to earn MOP honors, her second of the year, as the Bulldogs came away with a 17-3 win over the Aggies. She posted an event-high score of 77.5, which marked the second-highest Horsemanship score by a Bulldog this season. The score was also a season-high for the junior. Her 77.5 was also the sixth-highest Horsemanship score by any SEC rider this season and helped the Georgia Horsemanship squad to a 5-1 win over New Mexico State and the Western team to a 7-3 victory.

Arbuckle, Stawicki and the rest of the No. 2 Georgia equestrian team return to action this weekend when they travel to Blythewood, S.C., to take part in the SEC Championship. The Bulldogs enter the weekend as the No. 2 overall seed.
