Georgia Equestrian Receives Seeds for NCEA Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia equestrian team has earned a top-four seed in both hunt seat and western divisions and will enjoy byes through the first round of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship April 12-14 in Waco, Texas.
The Bulldog hunt seat team is seeded third behind Southeastern Conference foes Auburn and South Carolina, which are seeded first and second, respectively. Georgia's western team earned a No. 3 seed, behind squads from Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
“I am really happy with the seeds,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “We have worked extremely hard throughout the season to be put in a position to be successful at the NCEA’s. The Georgia Hunt Seat squad will face the winner of the first-round match between No. 6 New Mexico State and 11th-seeded Oklahoma State. Georgia’s bracket also includes a possible matchup with second-seeded South Carolina and a rematch with No. 7 Texas A&M.
Georgia's western squad will get a second-round match against either No. 6 Kansas State or No. 11 South Dakota State State. TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma State are also on Georgia’s side of the bracket.
The NCEA National Championship is being held April 12-14 at Baylor’s Extraco Coliseum in Waco, Texas. Georgia, which finished as reserved champions a year ago, is looking for its sixth national title.
