WACO, Texas – The University of Georgia equestrian team maintained its No. 2 ranking in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Poll released Tuesday.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 17-3 win over New Mexico State last weekend. Georgia’s 17-3 win, which matched its highest point total and largest margin of victory this season, helped the Bulldogs conclude the regular season with a 9-3 record.
Georgia swept MOP honors in the win over New Mexico State, as Meg O'Mara (Equitation Over Fences), Paige Stawicki (Horsemanship), Kylee Arbuckle (Equitation on the Flat) and Lauren Tieche (Reining) each earned the honor.
The Georgia Hunt Seat team went undefeated on the day, sweeping both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat by scores of 5-0. The Horsemanship team posted a 4-1 win, while the Reining squad earned a 3-2 win over the Aggies.
The Bulldogs, one of three Southeastern Conference teams ranked in the latest poll, has earned wins over five teams that are ranked in this week’s poll.
Georgia returns to action Friday, March 21 in the Southeast Conference Championships hosted by South Carolina in Blythewood, S.C. Georgia, who finished with a 4-2 record in the SEC, will compete as the No. 2 seed in the event.
