ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia equestrian is ranked second in the latest Coaches Poll. After posting 2-1 record since the last poll was released, the Bulldogs dropped one spot, with Auburn taking over at the nation’s No. 1 team. The Tigers handed Georgia a 13-7 loss, enabling them to take over the top spot. Georgia is 7-4 on the season.

Oklahoma State remains No. 3 this week and will try to pick up its ninth win of the season on Saturday when the Cowgirls host South Carolina. The Gamecocks remain No. 4 with a 6-4 record, as Carolina picked up home wins over Texas A&M and Delaware State.

Baylor moves up one spot to No. 5 this week, as the Bears have recent wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State, and a narrow loss to Auburn in raw scores, 1603-1599. Texas A&M holds steady at No. 6 as the Aggies picked up their first SEC win of the season on March 1 with a 10-7 victory over Auburn. TCU has gone 1-2 since the last poll was released, but the Horned Frogs were able to move up one spot to No. 7. 

After being ranked No. 4 two weeks ago, Kansas State falls four spots to No. 8, as the Wildcats have lost three in a row. They will look to pick up their first win in over a month when they host South Carolina on Friday. After improving to 2-8 on the season with a pair of wins last week, Fresno State received one first place vote this week, helping the Bulldogs earn a spot in the top-10 for the first time since the preseason poll was announced on Sept. 19.

South Dakota State holds steady at No. 10, the Jacks third straight time being ranked. 

The collegiate coaches competing under the National Collegiate Equestrian Association umbrella initiated the national poll. The next coaches poll is scheduled to be released on March 20 at Noon ET.
