UGA Club Team Takes Reserve High Point Team Award

The University of Georgia Equestrian Club Team competed in the University of South Carolina IHSA Show on Feb.16 at the Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre in Irmo, Sc.

Georgia won the High Point Reserve team award in the Western discipline. Auburn won the High Point team award with a total of 19 points having one more point than Georgia. For Georgia, Jessica Wittemeyer tied for Reserve High Point rider in Western. She placed second in reining and fifth in Open Western Horsemanship.

Kimberly Huggett placed sixth in Reining and fourth in Open Western Horsemanship. Erin Menigo placed fifth in Advanced II Western Horsemanship. Erin Hernandez won first place in Advanced I Western Horsemanship, while Ashley Greve came in fifth place. Ivey Cundiff placed sixth in Intermediate II Western Horsemanship and Catherine Coe placed third in the Beginner Class.

In the Hunt Seat Discipline, UGA took third place with 22 points. Auburn also took the High Point team award earning 44 points in this discipline. Collins Daye won second place in Open Equitation, with Katie Vijande placing fifth. In Open Over Fences, Vijande placed sixth. Megan Richardson won second place and Wittemeyer followed behind in third place in Intermediate Equitation. In Intermediate Over Fences, Erin Hernandez placed sixth.
