Jan. 24, 2013
ATHENS, Ga. -The third-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team gets back in action on Saturday, Jan. 26 when its heads to Fresno, Calif., to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs at 1 p.m. ET. Saturday's meet is the first time the two teams have faced one another since former Georgia standout Collins Daye was named the head coach of Fresno State. "We are really excited to go out to Fresno," head coach Meghan Boenig said. "It is a fun place to travel to and this is the first time we get to see our former rider Collins Daye coach her team. We are also excited that we get the chance to ride some new horses, test some patterns and face a really strong team. We have some momentum that we want to build on and starting off strong is extremely important to us. The ladies have been practicing extremely well and we are anxious to show off what we can do and set the tone for the semester." Georgia is 6-0 against Fresno State in a series that dates back to 2005. The Bulldogs won the last meeting 17-1 during their 11-meet win streak last season.
