ATHENS -- In addition to maintaining their standard of excellence in the ring by going 6-0 (4-0 SEC) through the first half of the 2004-05 season, the two-time defending national champion Georgia equestrian team is continuing to build a tradition of giving back to the community in ample measure.

Last season members of the equestrian team became involved in an after-school program at Fowler Drive Elementary School. This season the program's format has become more structured, allowing the Bulldog riders to further invest in the lives of the students at Fowler Drive.

"We have changed the activities a good bit, but it's still pretty much the same basic concept," said the team's philanthropy chair, senior Janice Brown. "Our focus has become more educational instead of just being about having fun with the kids."
