Volunteer Assistant Coach - Reining

Herm Sherwin is in his third season as the volunteer Reining coach for the University of Georgia equestrian team. In his initial season with the team, Sherwin helped coach the Western team to a third place finish at the 2012 NCEA National Championships and the overall team Reserve National Championship.

In his second season, he again assisted the Western squad to repeat their third place finish at the 2013 National Championship, as the team picked up their third-straight Reserve Champion title.

The Wyoming, N.Y., native has over 25 years of horse training and coaching experience in both Western all-around events and Reining. Sherwin has had an extensive personal career, including seven world championship titles in both Western all-around events and Reining, as well as multiple NRHA Futurity and Derby wins. The success has carried over to his students, as he has coached several world and national champion riders in many different Western events. He is the owner of HS Performance horses located in Watkinsville, Ga.
