Shannon Dolezal joined the UGA Athletic Association's sports medicine staff in July 2006 and is in her ninth season serving as the athletic trainer for the Lady Bulldogs.
Dolezal also has aquired additional experience working with the USOC, USA Basketball and USA Field Hockey. She served as the athletic trainer for the U.S. National Team that won the Gold Medal in women's basektball at the 2011 World University Games in China.
Previously, Dolezal served as a graduate assistant at Connecticut from 2004-06, working with the women's soccer, softball and men's and women's track and field teams, while also assisting with women's basketball. During 2002 and 2003 she served as an intern for the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx.
Dolezal received her bachelor's of science degree in athletic training from the Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2004 and her master's degree in exercise science from Connecticut in 2006. She also received certification as an athletic trainer and as a strength and conditioning specialist in 2004.
Dolezal, a native of Eagan, Minn., and the former Shannon Becker, is an avid runner. She has completed six marathons in the past three years, most recently the 2014 Boston Marathon.
In June 2013, Shannon married Sam Dolezal, who received his PhD from UGA in Biochemsitry in June 2014 and is currently a third-year medical student.
