Director of Recruiting Operations and Player Development

Kelly Mathis joined the Georgia staff as coordinator of recruiting operations in 2012 and was promoted to director of recruiting operations and player development in 2015. In addition to the recruiting responsibilities Mathis has had since coming to Georgia, her expanded position includes assisting the Lady Bulldogs' efforts in basketball practice and games, community service and marketing.

Within recruiting, Mathis will continue to coordinate the creation and distribution of graphics and mailings, serve as liaison to sports communications and creative services, assist with organization of official and unofficial visits and maintain recruiting software data. In her expanded role, Mathis will help with the breakdown of practice and game film with the compilation of statistics and charts during practice and games. Mathis also will spearhead numerous additional marketing and community service efforts under new head coach Joni Crenshaw. She oversees the social media elements associated with Lady Bulldog Basketball as well.

Prior to joining the Georgia staff, Mathis served as recruiting coordinator at Florida State and also was camp director for Seminole Girls' Basketball Camps from 2011-12. She was an assistant coach at Washington and Lee University from 2010-11. In addition to working with post players and defensive fundamentals, Mathis coordinated recruiting, team travel and film exchange and breakdown. From 2009-10, Mathis was business manager for Next Level Training in Knoxville, Tenn. She gained additional experience working basketball camps for the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Francis Marion University, Davidson University and Maryville High School.

Mathis played collegiately at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C. She helped the Lady Falcons to a 26-5 finish and the Conference Carolinas title as a sophomore, the same season she set the school single-game field goal percentage against Belmont Abbey by connecting on 9-of-10 shots from the floor.

A native of Maryville, Tenn., Mathis earned her bachelor's degree in sports management from Pfeiffer in 2009.
