ATHENS-----Georgia senior KU Singh fell to eighth-seeded Daniel Nguyen, 7-6(5), 6-4, in the first round of the Player's Choice Open Wednesday in Birmingham, Ala.

The Player's Choice Open is a USTA Futures Event that features many current and former college tennis players. Sing was the Bulldogs' lone representative in the tournament, and Nguyen was recently a standout at Southern California.

Singh's next tournament will be the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in New York Feb. 8-11. He will be joined by teammates Ben Wagland and Hernus Pieters.
