ATHENS-----Georgia's Sadio Doumbia, Ignacio Taboada and Hernus Pieters each won two matches on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Taboada and Pieters also won a doubles match to advance to the semifinals, joining another Bulldog duo, Wil Spencer and Garrett Brasseaux.

"We had a great day," said Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz. "We had some really tough matches. We didn't win them all, but I think our guys did a terrific job. We have three in the quarters, and the level of competition just got tougher. I'm really proud of our guys and the way they played, and hopefully tomorrow will be a good day."

Doumbia, seeded No. 1, cruised to a 6-4, 6-3 win over UCF's Francesc Aulina in the round of 32, then beat Florida's Billy Federhofer 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 16. Taboada also won both of his matches in straight sets, topping Florida State's Andres Bucaro 6-4, 6-3 and Florida's No. 4 seeded Bob van Overbeek, 7-6(5), 7-6(5).
