URBANA, Ill. --- Georgia’s fifth-ranked team of Ben Wagland and Hernus Pieters saw its NCAA Doubles Championships run come to an end in the quarterfinals Saturday at the University of Illinois’ Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs took the first set from Texas’ 41st-ranked David Holiner and Chris Camillone, but ultimately split before falling in a third-set tiebreaker as the Longhorns advanced to the semifinals with the 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(3) win. Wagland and Pieters earned All-America honors by entering the tournament as a No. 5-8 seed, then backed it up by making the round of eight – the second All-America criteria. Their season concludes with an overall record of 29-10.

As a team, Georgia compiled a record of 26-5 and reached the NCAA semifinals for the sixth time in the last eight seasons and won both the SEC regular season and tournament championships. The Bulldogs return all seven regular starters in singles and doubles in 2013-14.
