NEXT UP: The Bulldogs will conclude the fall portion of their schedule as they play in the Long Cove Invitational on Friday through Sunday in Hilton Head, S.C.

The teams that will be playing include Georgia, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Augusta State, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Houston, Arizona State, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia Tech, Southern Cal, West Florida and New Mexico.

The tournament originally was to be played at Palmetto Dunes Resort in Hilton Head, but in September both Golf World Magazine and Palmetto Dunes announced the tournament had been canceled due to financial reasons. That left college golf coaches with two options: Find another tournament to attend or lose three critical playing days. But thanks to a former Georgia golfer, a third - and more beneficial - option surfaced. When word of the cancellation was made public, Georgia coach Chris Haack telephoned ex-Bulldog Bob Patton, the director of golf at Long Cove Golf Club in Hilton Head, to see if he could help. Patton indeed could as he was able to relocate the event to Long Cove on the same dates.
