ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia men's golf team will play on Oklahoma State's home course next week - and the Bulldogs hope it is the first of two looks at the venue during the 2010-11 campaign.
Third-ranked Georgia will compete Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the PING Golfweek Preview at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. For 20 of the past 22 years, the Preview has been held each fall at the site of the following spring's NCAA Championship. Oklahoma State will host the 2011 NCAAs May 31-June 5.
"This is perhaps the most beneficial tournament we get to play," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "First of all, it's a chance to get a look at the course for the NCAAs. Secondly, the Preview always has the best teams in the country in the field, so you know right out of the gate where you stack up. We are looking forward to this event."
The 15-team field features 14 teams in the top 30, including four of the top five and seven of the top 10. The Bulldogs and No. 1 Oklahoma State will be joined by No. 2 Augusta State, No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Oregon, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 Arizona State, No. 11 Southern Cal, No. 13 Texas, No. 17 Georgia Tech, No. 19 Texas Christian, No. 22 Texas Tech, No. 23 Clemson, No. 25 Virginia and UNLV.
Haack will use a lineup of seniors Harris English, Russell Henley and Hudson Swafford, sophomore T.J. Mitchell and freshman Michael Cromie. English and Henley had top-20 efforts as Georgia opened its season with a sixth-place showing in the Carpet Capital Collegiate earlier this month. Mitchell will be making his season debut as the other four all played in the Carpet Capital Collegiate.
The teams will play 54 holes of stroke play, made up of 18 holes each day. Karsten Creek is a par-72, 7,408-yard layout.

Georgia twice has won the Preview, taking the title in 2000 and 2005. Ex-Bulldog Brian Harman was the Preview medalist in 2005 as well.
