ROCKY FACE, Ga. --- Georgia’s Russell Henley matched his career-best single-round score and took over the individual lead at the Carpet Capital Collegiate on Saturday.

Henley, a junior from Macon, fired a 6-under-par 66 in the second round at The Farm Golf Club to move to 7-under 137. Henley also shot a 6-under 66 at the 2007 Brickyard Collegiate Championship.

Henley will enter Sunday’s final round with a 2-shot lead over Georgia teammate Harris English and Mississippi’s Jonathan Randolph. English shot a 4-under 68 in the second round and is at 5-under 139 after 36 holes.

As a team, the third-ranked Bulldogs stand tied for seventh in the 12-team field at 10-over 586, including Saturday’s 6-over 294. Chattanooga has the team lead at 1-under 575.

Despite the surge from Henley and English, Georgia counted a 5-over 77 from redshirt freshman T.J. Mitchell and an 11-over 83 from true freshman Brian Carter. Junior Rob Bennett had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 15-over 87. Mitchell moved to 7-over 151 for the tournament, followed by Carter at 15-over 159 and Bennett at 21-over 87.
