The 11th-ranked Georgia men's golf team will be seeking another trip to the NCAA Championships as it competes this week at the East Regional. The regional will be held at Ansley Golf Club's Settindown Creek Thursday through Saturday with 27 teams participating. The top 10 from the regional - as well as the top 10 from both the Central and West regionals - will move on to the NCAA Championships May 29-June 1 in Columbus, Ohio.

The Bulldogs are the No. 8 seed in the East, following Georgia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Clemson, Augusta State and Auburn. Seeds Nos. 1-8 all are ranked in the Top 20, making the East arguably the toughest regional in the nation.

"We definitely will be going up against some of the best teams in the country, but that's what this time of year is all about," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "We want to be one of the 30 schools that advance and the only way to do that is perform well at the regional and prove that we belong. Our ultimate goal is to win the national championship, but we can't do that without playing well at the regional. Our guys know that and they will come out focused on the task at hand."
