ON DECK: The Georgia men's golf team, fresh off its Southeastern Conference title on Sunday, will take a month off before returning to competition.
The Bulldogs will compete in an NCAA Regional May 20-22 in Connecticut (East), Indiana (Central) or Oregon (West). The top 10 teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships June 1-4 in Hot Springs, Va.
In the previous six years, the Bulldogs had a tournament between the SECs and the NCAA Regional. That is not the case this season.
"I don't think it's going to hurt us in any way," Georgia coach Chris Haack said. "It would be nice to have another competition, but our guys will practice hard and compete hard against each other during the layoff, so we'll be fine."
SEC REVISTED: On Sunday, the fourth-ranked Bulldogs won the program's 25th SEC title, the most of any school in the league and the highest figure for any sport at Georgia. The Bulldogs have won four titles in seven years, all under Haack.
