Georgia golfers place fifth in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. --- The 12th-ranked Georgia men's golf team placed three players in the Top 20 at the Cleveland Golf/ASU Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.

Sophomore David Denham fired a 1-under 71 on Sunday as he closed at 9-under 207 and tied for eighth place. Oliver Wilson of tourney host Augusta State won medalist honors at 17-under 199. Freshman Kevin Kisner tied for 11th at 7-under 209, closing with a 4-under 68 on Sunday. Junior Ryan Hybl finished at 6-under 210, including Sunday's 2-under 70, and he tied for 18th place.

As a team, the Bulldogs placed fifth at 23-under 841, including a final-round 7-under 281. Augusta State took team honors at 44-under 820.

Also for the Bulldogs, freshman Richard Scott wound up at 5-over 221 as he shot an even-par 72 in the final round. Junior Matt McQuillan rounded out the Bulldogs' lineup at 10-over 226 as he shot a 3-over 75 on Sunday.

The Bulldogs will return to action April 25-27 at the SEC Championships at St. Simons Island, Ga.
