AUGUSTA --- The third-ranked Georgia men's golf team is in seventh place after nearly two rounds of the Cleveland Golf/Augusta State University Invitational being played at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Bulldogs fired a first-round even-par 288 on Saturday, then were at 4-over in the second round when play was suspended due to darkness. The second round will be completed on Sunday morning, followed by the final round. Georgia is 11 shots behind team leader UCLA.
Only two Bulldogs completed both rounds on Saturday. Freshman Chris Kirk had consecutive rounds of 1-over 73 to finish at 2-over 146, while freshman Brendon Todd is at 7-over 151 after rounds of 2-over 74 and 5-over 77.
Sophomore Kevin Kisner had a 2-under 70 in the first round and he was at 2-over with just one hole remaining in the second round. Junior David Denham also was even, having shot a 72 in the first round and playing par through 16 holes before the suspension. Sophomore Richard Scott had a 1-over 73 in the first round and he was 1-over with two holes to go in the second.
