STATESBORO, Ga. - The 12th-ranked Georgia men's golf team has three players in the Top 20 after two rounds of the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
On Saturday, Georgia junior Matt McQuillan and freshman Kevin Kisner landed in a tie for 13th place while sophomore David Denham logged a score good enough for a tie for 19th. McQuillan and Kisner are at 1-under 143, five shots behind tournament leader Will Claxton of Auburn.
They each fired a 3-under 69 to pace Georgia, Kisner posting his in the first round and McQuillan getting his in the second. Denham had consecutive rounds of 72 for an even-par 144. As a team, the Bulldogs stand sixth at even-par 576, nine shots behind Clemson. Georgia posted a 1-over 289 in the first round and a 1-under 287 in the second.
Freshman Richard Scott had the Bulldogs' other counting scores of 2-over 74 and even-par 72 for a 2-over 146 tally. Junior Ryan Hybl rounded out the Georgia lineup as he wound up at 12-over 156 (75, 81).
