Mitchells Spark Bulldogs To Lead In ODU Invitational
2011-12 (Junior Season): Chosen as the recipient of the Copas-Liebler Scholarship. 2010-11 (Sophomore Season): Went 3-0 in the match play portion of the NCAA Championship as the Bulldogs advanced to the final match. Saw action in three-plus events during the regular season. Highest finishes were 23rd-place efforts in the Carpet Capital Collegiate and the Puerto Rico Classic. Withdrew after one round of the Linger Longer Invitational due to illness. 2009-10 (Freshman Season): Named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year by the league's coaches to headline the All-Freshmen Team. Chosen Second-Team All-SEC. Saw action in six tournaments after joining the Bulldogs in January. Placed 15th in the Puerto Rico Shootout in his Georgia debut. Notched top-5 finishes in the Charleston Shootout (fourth) and the Morris Williams Intercollegiate (fifth). Came in eighth in the Southeastern Conference Championship. Amateur/Junior Highlights: Won the British Amateur, becoming just the second Australian to accomplish that feat. With the British Am victory, earned berths in the 2011 British Open and the 2012 Masters. Qualified for the 2011 U.S. Amateur. Placed third in the 2010 Dogwood Amateur and competed in the 2010 British Amateur. In the 2010 Australian Amateur, came in sixth in stroke play and reached the semifinals of match play. Won the 2009 Australian Stroke-Play Championships. Finished first in the 2008 Dunes Medal, setting two course records with rounds of 64 and 63. Was a member of the Australian 4-Man Men's Team.
